Join a Sunday morning walk from MIT along the Charles River to the Bunker Hill Monument (a 221-ft. obelisk that can be optionally climbed via a narrow spiral staircase, with scenic views of Boston) and the USS Constitution (a 1797 warship still floating in Boston Harbor), both free to visit!
We'll leave from MIT (exact location will be emailed to participants) at 9am and expect to be back in the early afternoon. Our route will take us past the Charles River Floating Wetland to North Point Park Island to Paul Revere Park into Charlestown to the Bunker Hill Monument and finally to the USS Constitution and back. Total: 5 miles. Map
Note: Boarding the USS Constitution requires passing through security, like at the airport, so bring your driver's license or passport, and don't bring things like pocket knives. Please read this website for more information about entry requirements.
Current students and new MITOC members are especially encouraged to join, and will be given preference if possible!
